True Star Media is excited to announce that we are a proud recipient of the Michael Jordan and Jordan Brand Community Grant!
The Jordan Brand Community Grant is part of a larger initiative known as the Black Community Commitment, a 10-year, $100 million program established by Michael Jordan and Jordan Brand to support the Black community. The grant program focuses on four key areas: Economic Justice, Education, Narrative Change, and Social Justice. The community grant is meant to empower communities around the United States to lead grassroots solutions in their neighborhoods, and support local organizations to directly effect change in their cities.
“Being a grant recipient of the Michael Jordan Family foundation and Brand means so much,” says True Star Co-Founder DeAnna McLeary-Sherman. “We really appreciate their commitment to the Black community and young people to change the narrative of who Black youth are and who they aspire to be. We look forward to continue amplifying young Black voices in Chicago and beyond.”
As a grantee, True Star Media will continue leading the way to create a world in which young creatives can thrive by creating a safe environment for students within our organization and programs.
